Let the Credit Union take some of the stress out of applying for college financial aid December 5-9, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in certain branch locations. This year you can get help with FAFSA forms even earlier than ever before.
College financial aid officers, Credit Union employees and other volunteers will help complete, and submit the form for students who plan to attend college in the 2017-18 academic year. Each year current and prospective college students file the FAFSA to determine their eligibility for grants, loans and work-study.
The event is free, but you’ll need to bring the following information:
- FSA ID (formerly the Federal Student Aid PIN) – Create one for the student and one for the parent. Visit FAFSA.gov to apply. Make sure to keep a record of the parent's and student's email addresses, their answers to the security questions, and both FSA IDs in a secure place. You'll need that information to sign the FAFSA.
- Completed 2017-2018 FAFSA on the Web Worksheet – Helpful practice application, but pre-completion is not required.
- Completed 2015 tax forms – With this information in hand, most families will be able to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool in the income/asset section of the FAFSA.
Visit Locations to find a branch in your area and call to confirm their participation.
