How to check your browser version

You can manually find out the version of the browser you are using by doing the following:

  • PC/Windows Users
  • On the menu bar of your browser go to:
    1. Help menu
    2. Click on About [name of browser] e.g. About Internet Explorer
    3. A small window will open that shows the version.
  • Mac Users
  • On the menu bar of your browser go to:
    1. [Name of browser] e.g. Safari
    2. Click About [name of browser] e.g. About Safari
    3. A small window will open that shows the version.

Internet Explorer 6 users

If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer® 6 (IE), it is known to have security vulnerabilities often exploited by hackers. Microsoft has provided many updates to IE since version 6 was released a decade ago. These updates take advantage of the newest Web standards designed to improve your security while using the Internet. We strongly suggest you download the free upgrade for Internet Explorer® 8.x.

Other Web browsers

Often people simply use the Web browsing software that comes with their computer; however, there are many other free browsers that also provide excellent security, stability and other advanced features you may enjoy. Consider switching to one of the following:
