Currency and Coins
Foreign Currency Exchange
At the Credit Union, get your money in the currency you desire. We can convert your dollars to foreign currency or vice versa. Visit your local branch for this service. Because some currencies take longer to get than others, it is recommended that all purchases of foreign currency be initiated 2 to 3 weeks prior to any departure to a foreign country.
Note: You can occasionally obtain more favorable conversion rates by using an ATM in the airport of the foreign country.
State Quarters
In 1997, the 50 State Quarters Program Act was signed into law. This act celebrates the 50 states by redesigning the reverse side of the quarter.
Approximately every 10 weeks from 1999 to 2008 there will be a new state quarter to collect. Each quarter's reverse side will celebrate one of the 50 states with a design honoring the state's unique history, traditions and symbols. The quarters are being released in the same order that the states joined the union.
Although the supply is limited, the Credit Union can provide you with the current new issue state quarter. However, we cannot obtain older state quarters as the coins are being produced and circulated by the Federal Reserve one time only. Visit your local branch for information on current availability. For additional information on state quarters, visit the U.S. Mint at www.usmint.gov.
