Tax Rebate Scam Alert!

Identity thieves are already taking advantage of people by pretending to be Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or other federal government representatives communicating about the new Economic Stimulus tax rebates. The IRS reports the following frauds on their Web site:

• Rebate phone call
  
• Refund e-mail
  
• Audit e-mail
  
• Changes to tax law e-mail
  
• Paper check phone call
