Local Government Federal Credit Union (LGFCU), a $735 million credit union serving North Carolina's local government employees, elected officials, volunteers and their families, is seeking accomplished candidates to fill the following positions:

Trust Officer
The Trust Officer is primarily responsible for the development and administration of trust relationships with credit union members. This highly motivated individual will develop and implement a successful marketing plan for developing new trust business.

Develops strong relationships with members to assess their financial needs, goals and objectives. Creates and implements a plan of action to ensure that financial and estate planning needs, goals and objectives are met. Acts as primary point of contact between Members Trust Company (MTC) and members on all aspects of trust relationships, including but not limited to maintaining client files, conducting periodic account reviews, executing discretionary distributions and other activities related to decision actions on accounts. Identifies opportunities for other credit union products and services consistent with members' needs and makes referrals as appropriate. Performs all duties in compliance with credit union and MTC guidelines, policies and procedures.

This individual will develop strong relationships with centers of influence and staff to promote credit union's image. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to conducting seminars and assisting Financial Planning Manager with special projects as assigned.

Ideal candidate will have BS or BA degree in Business, Accounting, Economics or related field. CFP or CTFA or equivalent certification plus a minimum of 3 to 5 years trust and investment services experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of trust/investment policies, including income tax, investment planning, risk management, trust and estate law, gift and other financial planning areas. PC proficient including Microsoft Office. Must possess excellent business development skills, as well as excellent oral and written communications skills, and strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills. Travel required.

Member Development Officer
This individual is responsible for developing relationships with eligible unit contacts, marketing products and services, and presenting information to eligible groups in assigned territory to attract and retain members. Promotes the credit union's products and services to assigned units via meetings, presentations and benefits fairs.          

BS/BA degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business preferred plus a minimum 2 years experience in business development, sales or local government. Demonstrated ability to accomplish goals.  Previous sales training preferred.  Excellent organizational, time management and presentation skills.  PC proficient including Microsoft Office.  Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills. Must possess strong service orientation skills. Travel within NC 75% of the time required. This position is located in the Charlotte, N.C. administrative office.
