Local Government Federal Credit Union (LGFCU), a $735 million credit union serving North Carolina's local government employees, elected officials, volunteers and their families, is seeking accomplished candidates to fill the following positions:
Trust Officer
The Trust Officer is primarily responsible for the development and administration of trust relationships with credit union members. This highly motivated individual will develop and implement a successful marketing plan for developing new trust business.
Develops strong relationships with members to assess their financial needs, goals and objectives. Creates and implements a plan of action to ensure that financial and estate planning needs, goals and objectives are met. Acts as primary point of contact between Members Trust Company (MTC) and members on all aspects of trust relationships, including but not limited to maintaining client files, conducting periodic account reviews, executing discretionary distributions and other activities related to decision actions on accounts. Identifies opportunities for other credit union products and services consistent with members' needs and makes referrals as appropriate. Performs all duties in compliance with credit union and MTC guidelines, policies and procedures.
This individual will develop strong relationships with centers of influence and staff to promote credit union's image. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to conducting seminars and assisting Financial Planning Manager with special projects as assigned.
Ideal candidate will have BS or BA degree in Business, Accounting, Economics or related field. CFP or CTFA or equivalent certification plus a minimum of 3 to 5 years trust and investment services experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of trust/investment policies, including income tax, investment planning, risk management, trust and estate law, gift and other financial planning areas. PC proficient including Microsoft Office. Must possess excellent business development skills, as well as excellent oral and written communications skills, and strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills. Travel required.
Administrative Assistant
Primary responsibilities include greeting all members and visitors to the facility and contacts appropriate staff person to notify them of the visitor. Directs incoming telephone calls to proper extension or department. Communicates basic information over the telephone and in person about products, services, hours, locations, rates, etc.
Performs a variety of general administrative/clerical tasks at or near the console, such as completing forms, maintaining files, stuffing and addressing envelopes, preparing outgoing mail, creating and updating spreadsheets, etc. Performs other clerical and administrative related duties as assigned by the Executive Assistant/Office Administration.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED). AA preferred. Previous experience in an office environment preferred. PC proficient including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and the Internet. Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills. Attention to detail. Familiarity with office correspondence standards such as setup of memos, letters, envelopes, etc. (may have been gained through formal secretarial training or on-the-job experience).
Previous experience dealing with a multi-line telephone console. Must possess a strong service orientation. Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities and function in a fast-paced environment. Ability to function in a commercial business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, postage machine, etc.
Financial Counselor
Primarily responsible for the delivery of financial education-related services to members. Assists members with strategic financial planning, offers remedial budget counseling and provides product solutions for emergency financial situations.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or Social Work is preferred. CFP or working toward the designation is a plus.
Direct Marketing Manager
Primary objective is to plan, develop, manage and execute direct response marketing strategies and targeted plans/campaigns that drive member acquisition and retention initiatives. Works with MCIF to identify various segments in the database and develops the target-specific programs ensuring the right offers/messages are going to the right segments. Continually adjusts campaign targets and develops controls and testing measures to positively influence member acquisition/retention and behavior and track marketing strategies with attention to ROI. Works with and manages the relationships with external vendors and internal, cross-functional teams in delivering and implementing direct marketing communication strategies designed to intensify the relationship between the Credit Union and its members. Creates, develops, and executes programs with a focus on member segmentation, contact sequencing and event-based marketing triggers.
Ideal candidate has 3-5 years experience in direct response marketing; DMA certification preferred. Candidate should also have extensive experience in project management and list management and segmentation. Must be able to work effectively with a team.
Member Development Officer
This individual is responsible for developing relationships with eligible unit contacts, marketing products and services, and presenting information to eligible groups in assigned territory to attract and retain members. Promotes the credit union's products and services to assigned units via meetings, presentations and benefits fairs.
BS/BA degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business preferred plus a minimum 2 years experience in business development, sales or local government. Demonstrated ability to accomplish goals. Previous sales training preferred. Excellent organizational, time management and presentation skills. PC proficient including Microsoft Office. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills. Must possess strong service orientation skills. Travel within NC 75% of the time required. This position is located in the Charlotte, N.C. administrative office.
